Davicom Technologies initially manufactured the Davicom M.A.C. (Monitoring, Alarm & Control) system in the mid 1990's to provide transmission site operators with a versatile means of monitoring their remote radio or TV sites. From the beginning, product development was mainly carried-out by Comlab.

Over the years, new capabilities were added to maintain the product's position as an industry innovator.  From initial VT-100 terminal communications, through the addition of fax & voice capabilities, the units have evolved to the present secure-Internet version with SNMP V3 functionality.  Full backwards compatibility is still maintained with older units, and newer units still have VT-100, voice & fax capability.

Davicom systems have been sold worldwide to prestigious clients like the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Bell Mobility, stations of the US Public Broadcasting System (PBS), the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Environnement Canada.

In 2001, Comlab took full control over the production and sale of the Davicom products, as well as the Scientel line of broadcast interface products.

The Scientel products were developed by an ex-CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) engineer who had the vision and technical knowledge required to build relatively low-cost, high-performance equipment.  These products offer reliable, easily adjustable means of detecting the presence and level of audio and video (NTSC) signal components as well as the power and deviation of FM and TV signals.  The Scientel products are also natural complements to the Davicom units.

Comlab Telecommunications Inc. (Comlab) is a private Canadian company founded in 1984 by personnel from the Electrical Engineering Department of Laval University in Quebec City.  Its head office and R&D laboratories are located in Quebec City and the production facility is located in Trois-Rivieres.  Its mission is to provide innovative solutions to problems in diverse industries through the application of RF technologies.
